Blue Air brings Cyprus and France closer to Cluj-Napoca

cipruBlue Air has added Cyprus and France to its Cluj-Napoca (CLJ) network this week. On 9 April the airline began a three times weekly (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays) service to Larnaca (LCA), while the following day it commenced a twice-weekly (Mondays and Fridays) connection to Nisa (NCE), according to Anna.aero.

While flights on the 1,333-kilometre city pairing to Nisa will face no direct competition, Blue Air will go head-to-head with Wizz Air on the 1,563-kilometre link to Larnaca, with the Hungarian ULCC also offering three times weekly flights. Both services will be served on the airline’s 737-800s according to OAG schedules. With these launches Blue Air now serves nine destinations from Cluj-Napoca, with Larnaca and Nice joining Birmingham, Bucharest, Dublin, Iasi, Liverpool, London Luton and Timisoara. The airline will expanded further from Cluj-Napoca in June when it begins Hamburg and Constanta services.
