Quo Vadis Manor, a unique space for unconventional events

Mihaela Călușer, entrepreneur with 28 years of experience in the tourism industry, inaugurated at the beginning of July, near Cluj-Napoca, Quo Vadis Manor, a boutique property dedicated to private and corporate events. Through this initiative, Mihaela Călușer aims to highlight the cultural and natural richness of the region by promoting local artists and craftsmen, traditional cuisine, and offering unique experiences for leisure and social connection, according to Business Review.

“Quo Vadis, the name chosen for the manor, comes from the question I asked myself during the pandemic – Where are we all going? As the world came to a standstill, I felt an acute need to reconnect with myself, with nature, and with everything authentic. Those travels across Romania, that were forced by the circumstances at first, became a revelation. I realized that in the future, the way we value and spend our free time would change radically. What was just an intuition four years ago, has now become a certainty, an irreversible trend: people are now, more than ever, seeking soulful connections. We are suffocated by a crowded and stressful daily life and feel the need to escape, to seek authentic experiences, forgotten tastes, and that deep peace that only nature can offer. This vision, this desire to offer a sanctuary for the soul, pushed me to take a bold step: I invested in a 100-years-old house in Plăiești, near Cluj-Napoca, surrounded by a generous orchard,” explains Mihaela Călușer.

Following its restoration, the traditional parish house has become Quo Vadis Manor, maintaining its rural charm while offering a unique setting for special events, genuine connection, and a return to essential values. The manor now operates as a center for private and corporate events, ideal for management gatherings, nature-based team-building events, visually and emotionally product launches, strategic sessions, creativity workshops, yoga and wellness retreats, local wine tastings, thematic dinners, and creative workshops in ceramics, embroidery, wood painting, and cooking classes with local chefs.

“I wanted to create a place that breathes history and tradition, yet is also modern and surprisingly relaxing. I didn’t want a rigid space, but a flexible one, capable of hosting meaningful, and unconventional events. Recently, we completed the first phase of this dream – the restoration of the manor. We are now opening the gates of Quo Vadis to anyone who wishes to experience the concept of slow living and slow travel. It is an invitation to return to the essence, to savor every moment, and to rediscover balance in a constantly moving world. I strongly believe that here, at the manor, we will all, even for a moment, answer the question: quo vadis? And perhaps we’ll find the answer in the silence of nature and in connecting with authentic people,” says the entrepreneur.
