Romania’s bicycle production doubles between 2009 and 2015

Romania’s bicycle production reached 900,000 units last year after an advance of about 10% compared to 2014. The production could reach one million units this year if the growth pace remains constant, says Romania-Insider.com.

The output doubled between 2009 and 2015, reports local Ziarul Financiar. During this period Romania climbed up among bicycle producers in Europe, from eighth to fifth place.

The local market ranked second in EU among the producers of bicycle parts, surpassed only by Italy. Romania produced bike components worth EUR 300 million last year, namely 18% of the total production in the EU.
