Representatives of the Order of Malta Aid Service in Romania are organizing a charity concert in Cluj to raise funds for the “Meals on Wheels” program. Through this program, 37 elderly people receive a hot lunch delivered to their homes every day, according to Via Cluj TV.
These are people who are too old, too sick, or too poor to feed themselves. In the context of this year’s tax changes, the budget allocated for this program needs to be supplemented, and the people of Cluj are invited to support those in need by making donations at the concert, says Paula Andrásy, representative of the Order of Malta Aid Service in Romania
The concert will take place on November 15, at 6 p.m., in the University Church. This is the Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity, which was founded by the Jesuit Order and then taken over by the Piarist Order of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. Today, it serves as a parish church.
The charity concert will be performed by an orchestra of students from the Sigismund Toduță Music High School and a quartet of students from the Gheorghe Dima National Academy of Music.
The Order of Malta Aid Service in Romania embodies the social mission undertaken almost a millennium ago by the Sovereign Order of Malta, expressed in the motto “Defending the faith and helping those in need.”
