Club owner sets record: He saw his team losing, so he entered the game at the age of 61

Aurelian Ghisa, owner of Romanian club Sanatatea Cluj, made local football history as the oldest player to play in an official match, according to telegrafi.com.

Ghisa decided to enter the match himself in the Romanian Cup duel between his Sanatatea and Universitatea from Craiova.

As expected, Craiova was very convincing in its visit to Sanatatea and won with a convincing score of 4-1.

When everything was already resolved, the club owner somehow wanted to be in the spotlight, when his team had already said goodbye to the chances of going further.

It was the 89th minute of the match when fans and spectators were stunned and couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

The 61-year-old decided to enter the game and spend a few minutes on the field, which was enough for a record in Romanian football.

Otherwise, Ghisa is precisely a former striker of this club.

He ended his career in 2009 and 16 years later, he found himself back in the shirt of the club he owns.
