The undisputed leader remains Henri Coandă International Airport – Bucharest, with 3.97 million boarding passengers and 3.88 million arriving passengers. Far behind in second place is Cluj-Napoca Avram Iancu International Airport, with 810,600 boarding and 788,600 arriving passengers.
On regular flights, the highest number of passengers came from London Luton – 533,655 passengers, followed by Milan Bergamo – 292,528, Munich – 195,808, and Istanbul International – 188,945.
The ranking continues with Brussels Charleroi – 182,921 passengers, Paris Beauvais – 169,822, Vienna – 158,079, Rome Fiumicino – 153,083, Dortmund – 151,822, and Madrid Barajas – 148,182.
The main countries of origin (based on arrival airports) for regular flights to Romania were Italy (1,172,988 passengers), the United Kingdom (886,758), Germany (710,326), Spain (527,803), and France (391,704).
Most passengers on regular flights boarded to London Luton – 543,194 passengers, Milan Bergamo – 303,096, Munich – 200,320, Brussels Charleroi – 188,436, Istanbul International – 180,462, Paris Beauvais – 174,506, Vienna – 164,500, Dortmund – 160,066, Rome Fiumicino – 158,735, and Barcelona – 147,336.
On departures, most passengers boarded flights to Italy (1,212,473), the United Kingdom (906,585), Germany (744,614), Spain (534,911), France (403,834), and Turkey (235,596).
Henri Coandă International Airport – Bucharest accounted for 49.4% of boarding passengers on domestic flights, followed by Avram Iancu International Airport – Cluj-Napoca with 18.5%, and Traian Vuia International Airport – Timișoara with 12.9%.
