BT Pensii will henceforth manage the FPF BRD Medio, under the name Pensia Mea Plus, following the receipt of approval from the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) to take over the management of the optional pension fund from BRD Pensii (BRD Societate de Administrare a Fondurilor de Pensii Private), according to Business Review.
Banca Transilvania, BT Investments, BRD-Groupe Societe Generale and Societe Generale Assurances announced in 2024 the agreement for the acquisition of BRD Pensii by Banca Transilvania and BT Investments. The company manages pillar 3 and pillar 2 pension funds, namely FPF BRD Medio and FPAP BRD Pensii.
Participants of BRD Medio (Pensia Mea Plus) can consult their pension account balance on the BT Pensii website, while the bank details for the transfer of the contribution remain unchanged.
Impact: strengthening BT Pensii’s position in the voluntary pension market
Pensia Mea Plus will help strengthen BT Pensii’s position in the voluntary pension market, which will now manage two Pillar 3 pension funds, Pensia Mea and Pensia Mea Plus, with more than 150,000 members.
“We will manage the pension money of the nearly 37,000 participants of Pensia Mea Plus in the most professional way, just as we do for the more than 115,000 participants of Pensia Mea. This is BT Pensii’s commitment to the Romanians, to their financial future, as the sole administrator with majority Romanian capital”, says Corina Cojocaru, Managing Director, BT Pensii.
Second stage: the acquisition of BRD Pensii and its mandatory pension fund, FPAP BRD
The acquisition of BRD Pensii, which manages the second fund, FPAP BRD (pillar 2), also requires the approval of the Financial Supervisory Authority.
