The film’s success heralds from the highly competitive and increasingly impressive iterations of the ClujShorts International Film Festival. The festival, held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, has been instrumental in broadcasting the cultural prowess of the city to an international audience. Additionally, the event provides a yearly snapshot of global societal, anthropological, and political dynamics, thanks to the cumulative efforts of its organizing committee, jury, sponsors, volunteers, and participating audiences.
The festival’s 12th edition featured an array of categories, celebrating a diversity of talent in the filmmaking arena. Among the winners were Hesam Dehghani’s “My Beautiful Doll,” which offered a modern twist on “One Thousand and One Nights,” and “The Middle of the Garage” by Lisa Bolduc, which captivated with its quality cinematography and enigmatic humor. “Others Remained Silent,” a poignant student film addressing domestic violence, alongside “OVO,” an animation that portrays life and love as universal attributes, were other notable highlights.
