“The street exhibition, entitled “Corneliu Coposu, a whole life for Romania”, includes images of the life of the great politician, many of them related to Cluj-Napoca, the city of his student days (he graduated from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences in 1934).
Corneliu Coposu was an eminent pupil and student, but Iuliu Maniu’s “touch” made him perfect, showed him how and why politics must be a “moral activity that cannot be separated from ethics and honesty”. Iuliu Maniu chose Corneliu Coposu because he sensed the depth of his thinking, because he saw in him the apprentice most capable of carrying forward and transmitting an idea, no matter how many obstacles he faced. To sacrifice oneself for a cause, to sacrifice oneself for a creed, to carry forward the flame of faith and freedom, not to negotiate principles, that was his legacy. Unfortunately for Romania, his compatriots discovered his moral and political dimension after his ascension to the Lord. Many mourned him, but very few understood and followed him! He forgave his executioners, he forgave his adversaries, he showed tolerance and understanding for many things incomprehensible to the great majority. He loved the young, convinced that they would be the ones to raise this nation again!
The street exhibition is a pious tribute and a deep gratitude to a great personality of Romania. It will be located on Bd. Eroilor in Cluj-Napoca and will be open to the public from 1-15 November 2022, being an integral part of the events of the 5th edition of the Corneliu Coposu Gala, which will also take place in Cluj-Napoca on 10-11 November 2022″, announces the President of the Corneliu Coposu Foundation, Ion-Andrei Gherasim.
