PROMELEK XXI, a company Cluj-Napoca, one of the main players in the local electrical equipment market, part of the Spanish group Elektra, added in 2021 approx. 200 new electric charging stations, both in public and private locations, designed for 100% electric or hybrid plug-in cars, according to Business-Review.eu.

According to a company release, last year, PROMELEK XXI provided approx. 200 slow and fast-charging stations, thus, tripling its sales in this segment compared to the previous year, and future trends predict further increase.

“The steady growth of the business line for electric charging stations will be, again, this year, influenced by the multitude of ongoing projects, through governmental and European funds, where we participate by offering a complete consultancy package in choosing the solution, supply, and installation of equipment through accredited partners. In 2022, we are counting on a doubling of sales of such products“, Károly Nagy added.

He underlined that he expects an alert growth of the market of electric charging stations, in line with the increase of the fleet of electrified cars in Romania. Thus, according to APIA * (Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Importers), cars in this category (either 100% electric, or plug-in hybrid or full hybrid) reported, at the level of December 2021, a market share of 15.5%, 2.2 times higher compared to December 2020 when it was 7.1%. Moreover, APIA data show that electrified car sales have doubled in 2021 (+ 109.1%) compared to 2020.

What customers want when they choose a charging station

Regarding the type of charging stations sold by PROMELEK XXI, a significant percentage is intended for residential use, followed by those for public spaces and municipal parking lots. The company also delivers office and HoReCa projects, shopping malls, bus parking lots, and electric bicycles.

“In general, the residential customer wants a wall-mounted slow charging (AC) charging station that has 6 mA DC protection (very important) and even has a remote connection for configuration and monitoring through an application. furniture. In this case, the average price reaches approx. 650 euros”, underlined the company’s representative.

On the other hand, commercial or public customers want All In One charging stations, which have both fast-charging connectors in DC, European Combo CCS standard and Asian standard CHAdeMO for short-term spot charging, as well as charging connectors slow in AC, type2, for customers that allow you a longer-term charge.

According to the company, the main factor that must be taken into consideration when choosing a station is the time that the user of the electric vehicle can allocate for the charging process. Depending on this aspect and the type of electrical connection existing at the location, the version of slow AC or fast DC station and the required power can be dimensioned.

Regarding the advantages of PROMELEK XXI on the profile market, Károly Nagy emphasized that ensuring the complete consultancy in choosing the solution and the existence of a permanent stock of products that entails fast delivery are the main important aspects. The installation and maintenance services provided should also be taken into consideration.
