Telekom Romania to inaugurate data centre in Cluj-Napoca

Telekom Romania will inaugurate, in the 21-27 September week, a data centre in Cluj-Napoca, according to online publication Profit.ro citing B2B Product Management Manager at Telekom Romania, Vasile Voicu. With three levels and a basement, the new Telekom data centre is located 11 kilometers from Cluj-Napoca airport and can accommodate 300 server racks, says Telecompaper.com. 

The idea of building a data centre in Cluj-Napoca started from the accelerated development of this city, which became the second IT pole at national level, as well as the accelerated development of the city’s automotive, production and banking area, Voicu said.

Telekom found strong demand to host data in the city at an ever-increasing speed. The growth potential of the market is double-digit, 16% annually in the next 4 years, Voicu added.
