While in Brussels for the European Council summit on Thursday, President Klaus Iohannis voiced his opinion about a potential emergency ordinance adopted by the Government. “It just cannot be”, he argued, explaining it is against the Constitution that the Government legislates a draft already in the Parliament’s debate through emergency ordinance, according to RomaniaJournal.ro.
“An emergency ordinance on the Criminal Codes just cannot be. It’s not constitutional. The Government cannot legislate a draft already in the Parliament’s debate through emergency ordinance. So, the explanation is simple-just cannot be”, he stated.
