
Over 800 guests attended the gala hosted by TIFF President Tudor Giurgiu on 2 June 2018, including Fanny Ardant, who was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award alongside the Romanian actress Anna Széles and Jean-Marc Barr, who also presented The Big Blue as the closing film on 3 June 2018.
Romanian actor and initiator of Aristoteles Workshop Dan Nuțu received the Excellence Award.
The gala was dedicated to the memory of the most important Romanian filmmaker Lucian Pintilie, who died on 16 May 2018.
The Romanian Days competition awards were also announced on 2 June. Constantin Popescu’s Pororocawas awarded best feature film.
