Romania’s Banca Transilvania (BT) [BSE:TLV] said that it has repurchased a total of 2,637,718 own shares in the period March 19-20 at a weighted average price per share of 1.77 lei ($0.40/0.37 euro), according to SeeNews.com.
Banca Transilvania paid a total of 4.67 million lei for the share repurchases during the review period, the lender said in a bourse filing on Monday.
Earlier this month, Banca Transilvania launched a share repurchase programme targeting 5 million shares at a price of up to 4 lei apiece.
The bank’s capital is divided into 5,215,917,925 shares with a par value of 1 leu each, according bourse data.
As at 12:10 CET on Tuesday, Banca Transilvania shares traded 3.6% higher at 1.668 lei on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
