Porsche has agreed to sell MHP GmbH, its management and IT consulting subsidiary, to Indian technology and consulting group Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), as part of a broader strategic partnership focused on artificial intelligence and digital transformation, according to Business Review.
MHP operates a major Romanian business through its Software Center in Cluj-Napoca, where it has almost 1,000 employees and works with local partners on software development.
Under the transaction, TCS will acquire 100% of MHP Management through one of its subsidiaries. The deal remains subject to regulatory approvals. The acquisition forms part of a five-year strategic agreement between TCS and Porsche, under which the two companies will develop and deploy AI-based services across Porsche’s operations.
TCS will establish a dedicated AI Mobility Center of Excellence for Porsche, focused on developing scalable solutions for manufacturing, engineering, operations, and customer engagement. The two companies plan to integrate AI into areas including smart manufacturing, engineering processes, and customer experience.
MHP brings extensive expertise in automotive and industrial consulting, with capabilities spanning business transformation, AI, SAP solutions, manufacturing digitalisation, and connected mobility. TCS said the acquisition would strengthen its position in Germany and among automotive and industrial clients across Europe, including Romania.
“TCS is honoured to be Porsche’s transformation partner. As AI, software and data redefine the automotive industry, this partnership brings together TCS’s capabilities in AI, engineering, technology and business transformation with MHP’s strong automotive consulting expertise. Together, we will deploy AI at scale across Porsche, accelerating innovation throughout its operations and contributing to the mobility solutions of the future,” said K. Krithivasan, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Consultancy Services.
The partnership will combine Porsche’s automotive engineering and brand expertise with TCS’s capabilities in AI, product engineering, technology, and business transformation. The companies said the five-year agreement would provide a framework for scaling AI initiatives and generating measurable operational benefits.
“Porsche is taking another important step in its strategy of maintaining a clear focus on its core business by transferring MHP to Tata Consultancy Services. At the same time, we are gaining a strategic partner in TCS. By combining Porsche’s automotive expertise with TCS’s digital technology and AI capabilities, we will further strengthen our ability to innovate, increase efficiency and reinforce competitiveness in a mobility world increasingly shaped by data and software,” said Dr Michael Leiters, CEO of Porsche AG.
The transaction is expected to expand TCS’s footprint in the European automotive and industrial sectors while adding MHP’s consulting and implementation capabilities to its existing technology portfolio.
Deutsche Bank AG acted as financial adviser to TCS, while Noerr provided legal counsel.

Pillars of Market Leadership
The growth and sustained resilience of TCS rest on three core strategic strengths:
-
The Global Network Delivery Model (GNDM): TCS pioneered a distributed delivery framework that seamlessly integrates onshore client consultations with offshore engineering hubs, ensuring round-the-clock operational continuity for global banks, healthcare networks, and retailers.
-
Talent Transformation at Scale: Facing rapid technology shifts, TCS operates one of the industry’s most extensive internal reskilling platforms, training hundreds of thousands of employees in generative AI, cloud architecture, cybersecurity, and data analytics.
-
Long-Term Client Partnerships: Rather than relying solely on transactional projects, TCS emphasizes multi-year strategic transformations, resulting in exceptionally high client retention rates among Fortune 500 companies.
Navigating the Next Wave: AI and Cloud Integration
As traditional IT maintenance shifts toward automated, cloud-native environments, TCS continues to reposition its service portfolio around enterprise artificial intelligence, hybrid cloud infrastructure, and sustainable tech practices.
Through strategic partnerships with major hyperscalers—such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud—and the expansion of its proprietary platforms like Ignio (AI-driven operations) and Quartz (blockchain solutions), TCS remains a fundamental architect of the worldwide digital economy.
