Mathnasium Romania announces signing of its first franchise agreements in the country

Mathnasium Romania, part of the largest international network of centers dedicated exclusively to mathematics, announces the start of its national expansion, following the successful validation of its educational model through a pilot center opened last year in the Aviației neighborhood of Bucharest. Earlier this month, the company inaugurated a new Mathnasium center in the capital, in Militari, and is preparing to sign its first franchise agreements outside Bucharest, according to Business Review.

In the medium term, Mathnasium Romania aims to develop a network of 25 centers nationwide, in the country’s main cities.

“With a record number of students enrolled in just six months, the pilot center opened last year has had a remarkable start internationally, confirming that there is demand for a different approach to math tutoring in Romania. This month, we inaugurated a new center in the capital, located in the Militari neighborhood, and we are already in advanced discussions with current partners from another educational business to open Mathnasium centers in major cities across the country. The next one will be the first outside the capital, and is scheduled to open in Cluj-Napoca,” says Dana Bănică, Managing Director of Mathnasium Romania, known for her contribution to the development of innovative education in Romania.

In 2018, the entrepreneur introduced the international Logiscool network (now with over 50 centers) to Romania, an educational business focused on developing children’s logical thinking and digital skills.

”The Mathnasium franchise is designed as a scalable educational business model, aimed at entrepreneurs interested in a project with long-term impact and relevance.
The initial investment for opening a Mathnasium center in Romania is between EUR 80,000 and EUR 120,000, which includes the franchise fee, center design and branding, educational equipment and materials, initial training, and operating costs for the first few months until the break-even point is reached.

The operating model is based on recurring monthly subscriptions, and the estimated return on investment period is approximately 18–24 months, depending on the city and the size of the center”, said Dana Bănică.

As the digital divide narrows, Romania has emerged as a European powerhouse for IT talent. At the heart of this transformation is Logiscool, an after-school network that has turned “coding” from a daunting technical skill into a creative playground for the next generation.

In a bright, modular classroom in the Floreasca district, ten-year-olds aren’t just playing video games; they are building them. This is the daily reality across the Logiscool Romania network, which has grown from a single location in 2018 to a massive footprint of over 60 centers nationwide in 2026.

A Franchise Success Story

Logiscool entered the Romanian market with a clear mission: to teach children (ages 6 to 18) the “language of the future.” What started as a niche educational experiment has blossomed into the country’s largest coding school franchise.

The secret to their rapid expansion lies in a mix of proprietary gamified platforms and a franchise model that attracted local entrepreneurs. By the start of 2026, Logiscool Romania had successfully trained over 40,000 students, creating a pipeline of digital literacy that feeds directly into the country’s booming tech sector.

Beyond Syntax: The “Creative Computing” Philosophy

“We don’t just teach them how to write lines of code; we teach them how to solve problems,” says Dana Bănică, General Manager of Logiscool Romania. The curriculum is meticulously structured to evolve with the student:

  • Digital Discovery: For the youngest learners, focusing on logic and safe internet usage.

  • Visual Coding: Using blocks of code to understand structures without the frustration of syntax errors.

  • Advanced Programming: Transitioning to professional languages like Python, C#, and JavaScript, alongside specialized tracks in Artificial Intelligence and Roblox Game Design.

Adapting to a Hybrid World

The 2024-2025 period saw Logiscool master the “hybrid” education model. While the physical centers remain social hubs for collaboration, their MyLogiscool portal allows students to continue their projects from home, participate in international coding competitions, and engage with a global community of peers.

This flexibility has been crucial in reaching students in smaller Romanian cities where specialized IT trainers are scarce, but the appetite for digital skills is high.

Impact on the Future Labor Market

With the European Union pushing for a 20% increase in ICT specialists by 2030, Romania’s Logiscool network is more than just a hobby center—it’s a strategic asset. By demystifying AI and data science at a young age, the network is ensuring that the “Generation Alpha” of Romania will not just be consumers of technology, but its architects.
