The Central Bank of Romania launches new coin

The National Bank of Romania is launching in the numismatic circuit, starting from Monday, December 29, a gold coin with the theme History of gold – Votive plaques from Germisara, according to Romania Journal.

 

According to a statement from the central bank, the obverse of the coin shows details of the votive plaques discovered at Geoagiu-Băi (Germisara), the nominal value “10 LEI”, the inscription “ROMANIA”, the coat of arms of Romania and the year of issue “2025”. 

Obverse: The coin features details of the votive plates, the face value “10 LEI”, the inscription “ROMANIA”, the coat of arms of Romania, and the year of issue, “2025”.

Reverse: A depiction of the goddess Diana hunting, with the inscriptions “PLACUTELE VOTIVE DE LA GERMISARA” and “ISTORIA AURULUI” arranged in an arc.

The gold coins are presented in transparent capsules and include a booklet detailing the numismatic issue, along with certificates of authenticity in Romanian, English, and French, signed by the Governor and the Chief Cashier of BNR.
