Hungary’s Minister of Construction and Transport, Janos Lazar, held a press conference in Cluj-Napoca.
He said there were two reasons for his visit to Cluj Napoca: on the one hand, to commemorate the victims of the 1956 revolution in Transylvania, and on the other hand, to support the RMDSZ in the campaign.
Janos Lazar explained that the RMDSZ had achieved its best electoral results in the last 20 years in the local and European elections, but the question is how the alliance will fare in the big political battle in the autumn. “It is necessary for the Hungarian community in Romania to participate in the parliamentary elections in as large a proportion as possible, as the stakes are much higher,” he stressed.
On the presidential election, he said that the RMDSZ has a brave, honest, and talented candidate in Hunor Kelemen. “In Hungary, we are very proud that one of the most prepared Hungarian politicians of today’s generation is a candidate for president. He has experience, he is well-established in Romanian politics, and he represents common sense,” concluded Lázár.
