According to the local authorities, this is a unique project in Romania and Southeast Europe.
“In the beginning, the costs of the actual construction of the only Integrated Transplant Center in the country and Southeast Europe will be covered by the County Council’s budget, which will then request the settlement through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR),” CJ Cluj said.
According to Alin Tise, president of the Cluj County Council, the authorities want the center’s construction to start this year.
The future Integrated Transplant Center will have 12 operating and surgery rooms, imaging and emergency rooms, laboratories, a unit for blood transfusion, an intensive care unit, medical offices and research rooms, a heliport, and more. In total, it will have 280 patient beds. The project also includes the arrangement of 176 parking spaces.
The new center will perform four types of transplants: heart, lung, liver and kidney.
According to the project, the building will be one with very high energy performance, with almost zero energy consumption.
