For conducting this year’s survey, LeasePlan took into account three basic factors:
- The electric vehicle registrations
- The maturity of electric vehicle infrastructure
- Government incentives in each European country
A total of 22 countries are included in LeasePlan’s list for 2021.
The Netherlands, Norway, and United Kingdom are now the best-prepared countries in Europe for the electric vehicle transition. The same three countries occupied the top spots last year.

Across Europe, there was a 43% increase in public charging stations with almost 260,000 public stations.
Overall, the charging infrastructure scores the lowest points of all categories, highlighting the need for faster development of public charging infrastructure in Europe.
