
At 30 September, Orange Romania offered mobile, fixed and TV services to 10.61 million customers, maintaining the level of Q3 2019. The cable and satellite television service, Orange Home TV, had 519,869 customers at the end of September, slightly lower than in Q3 2019, and fixed broadband services had 377,272 customers, up 13 percent compared to the same period in 2019.
The development of the Orange network continued between July and September, when 1,297 new localities received access to 4G+. At the end of September, 63.84 percent of the country’s population had access to 4G+ speeds and the 4G network covered 98.99 percent of the country’s population and 100 percent of the urban population.
In the context of the health crisis and the growing need for users to be connected online, mobile data consumption increased by 37 percent in Q3 compared to Q3 2019.
In August, Orange announced 100 percent 5G coverage in the capital Bucharest. At present, the Orange 5G network is available in Bucharest and in 14 other cities: Bragadiru, Brasov, Chitila, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Iasi, Magurele, Otopeni, Ovidiu, Pantelimon, Popesti-Leordeni, Predeal, Timisoara and Voluntari.
Also, it continued the expansion of its own fibre-optic network in Q3. The network is available at national level in 178 localities.
