MOL Romania develops new Fresh Corner concept in its gas stations

MOL Romania continues the development on the local market, with emphasis on the implementation of the Fresh Corner concept in the network of services stations.

In 2019, MOL Romania continued its expansion: it opened eight new stations, two of them in its own direct administration, located in Târgu-Mureş and Comăneşti, and six operated in the franchise system.

Introduced in Romania in the summer of 2015, Fresh Corner is a concept that has a great success. Currently, the number of MOL gas stations in Romania where customers can enjoy Fresh Corner coffee is 201, out of a total of 227.

The expanded Fresh Corner concept is present in 125 stations and includes a gastronomic offer consisting of pastry products, fresh sandwiches, made according with their own recipes, hot dogs, burgers, ribs, as well as natural juices and smoothies.

“The customer is always at the center of our actions and, through everything we do, we try to come to meet his needs and expectations. Thus, due to the fact that studies have shown that the main product preferred by customers is Fresh Corner coffee, we have invested in this direction, currently reaching almost 90% coverage in the Romanian network. Coffee remains the main product of this concept, as evidenced by the sales recorded last year: 7 million coffees sold in Romania, which means about 13 coffees per minute. The figures for this year show the trend of continuous growth of the category: by the end of September there were 5.6 million coffees sold throughout our network. Thus, we believe that this segment has potential for growth in the future ”, said Levente Borviz, Head of Retail MOL Romania (photo above).

In Fresh Corner stations, customers can choose between over 20 types of coffee available. The special aroma of Fresh Corner coffees is due to the high quality coffee beans, carefully selected and roasted according to an original recipe, say company representatives. In the top of the preferences of MOL customers, the first place is occupied by espresso coffees, followed by caffe latte, long coffee and long coffee with milk.
