Romanian state airline Tarom to drop several under-performing routes

Several under-performing routes operated by state-owned airline Tarom will be dropped, transport minister Răzvan Cuc announced, according to Romania-Insider.com.

These are: Sibiu-Stuttgart, Sibiu-Munich, Timişoara-Chişinău, Timişoara-Stuttgart, Paris-Cluj and Paris-Timişoara.

The routes were launched without an impact study and were operating with at most 10 to 20 passengers per flight, the minister said, quoted by Agerpres.

The minister said that the new management of Tarom should undertake an audit and cancel the routes.
