Former Romanian PM Dacian Ciolos gets brand new party

Romania’s former prime minister Dacian Ciolos announced the launch of a new political party, the Freedom, Unity and Solidarity Party (PLUS), says Romania-Insider.com.

Ciolos made the announcement in Cluj-Napoca on Saturday, December 15.

He said he made this decision because the registration of his first party, Miscarea Romania Impreuna (MRI), was delayed due to court trials. He used intermediaries for setting up the new party, “anonymous people” as he called them, to avoid further challenges in court.

The founders of PLUS are Adrian Alexandru Iordache, Iulia Iordache and Raluca Florina Danes, who are attorneys at Iordache Partners law firm.

“People who do not want us to have this [political] vehicle are trying to prevent, to slow the registration process,” Dacian Ciolos complained at a meeting with his supporters in Cluj-Napoca.
