Romania’s research minister resigns

Romania’s research and innovation minister Nicolae Burnete (left in the photo) resigned on Friday, August 31. This is the first resignation of a minister from the government led by Viorica Dancila, according to Romania-Insider.com.

“My resignation is irrevocable and, at least at this moment, it will not be the subject of a press conference”, Burnete announced, according to a press release from the Ministry of Research and Innovation. Nicolae Burnete is professor at Technical University from Cluj-Napoca.

Several leaders of the ruling Social Democratic Party (PSD) allegedly complained about the work of several ministers, including research minister Nicolae Burnete, Digi24 reported.
