Tourists can now discover Romania’s beautiful ecotourism destination Colinele Transilvaniei (the Hills of Transylvania) with the help of a mobile app launched by WWF Romania in partnership with Mioritics Association, says Romania-Insider.com.

Located at the confluence of the counties of Brasov, Mures and Sibiu, Colinele Transilvaniei represents “the last truly medieval landscape in Europe.”

“The biodiversity and traditional lifestyle of the people are the result of centuries of development in harmony with nature, which impressed us even before inventorying all the species and working on a management plan for the Podisul Hartibaciului protected natural area, which is part of this destination, so that these plants and animals, these unique landscapes are protected. That’s why we want more and more people to spend time discovering these places, and thus we worked on this app to promote slow tourism,” said Orieta Hulea, WWF Romania’s general manager.

The Colinele Transilvaniei mobile app is currently available only in Google Play, in Romanian, English, and German. It will also be available offline.
