BALATON SOUND (4-8 JULY 2018, ZAMÁRDI, HUNGARY)
Balaton Sound, Hungary’s “party beach”, has celebrated its 10th anniversary this year with names like Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Tiësto, David Guetta and Calvin Harris and underground artists like Dixon, Seth Troxler, and Ricardo Villalobos. The festival is mainly EDM-focused but it often ventures into areas like urban and hip-hop. Since Hungary has no seasides (it is surrounded by dry land in any direction) its only “sea” is Balaton, the massive freshwater lake in its Western half. Each summer, it is invaded by tourists, old and young, bathing, sailing, and windsurfing all around.
This year’s lineup and ticket prices have not been revealed yet.
ELECTRIC CASTLE (18-22 JULY 2018, BONTIDA, ROMANIA)

It is an eclectic, up-and-coming event with a long list of international artists and an ever-growing mass of visitors – this year, the event had 174,000 attendees from 55 countries, 9 stages, and 307 artists coming from all over the globe. Over its five years of history, its stages were taken by performers like The Prodigy, Skrillex, Sigur Rós, Bring Me The Horizon, Bastille, Paul Kalkbrenner, Die Antwoord, Gorgon City, Enter Shikari and Bonobo.
