Bosch may open washing machine factory in central Romania

German group Bosch plans to open a washing machine factory in Simeria, Hunedoara county, only three kilometers away from the Sibiu-Arad highway, says Romania-Insider.com.

The talks between Bosch and the Simeria municipalities have started three months ago, reports local Ziarul Financiar.

The German group is interested building the factory on a 20-hectare plot, located near the railroad depot in Simeria. The investment would lead to the creation of 2,000-2,500 jobs.

“We’ve had three rounds of talks with the Bosch representatives so far, who are interested in investing in our locality,” said Nicolae Adrian Todor, secretary at the Simeria town hall.

The German group currently owns automotive plants in Blaj and Cluj, a research & development center in Cluj and a BPO center in Timisoara.
