New shopping centre opened in Cluj-Napoca on the plot of former beer factory

A new shopping centre was inaugurated on Saturday (April 8) in Cluj-Napoca on the plot of the former Ursus beer factory. It is part of a mixed-use project called Platinia, which also includes apartments, and the total investment amounted to EUR 25 million, according to Romania-Insider.com.

The project was developed by the local investor Vasile Puscas via the firms Florisal and Drusal. It includes a mall of 13,000 sqm with 50 stores, as well apartments that have already been occupied, and an apart-hotel.

Puscas said that he estimates that about three million people will visit Platinia Shopping Center in the first year. The project’s anchor will be the Belgian-Dutch retailer Mega Image, which has begun its expansion in the north-west of the country.
