Blue Air expands from Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca

On 16 December Blue Air launched a three times weekly (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) link between Cluj-Napoca and Birmingham. Welcoming the first flight into the UK city are Paul Kehoe, CEO, Birmingham Airport, and Vlad Cristescu, Network Development Executive, Blue Air. Both handed out cupcakes to passengers on the return flight to the Romanian city, says anna.aero.

Blue Air on 16 December commenced two new routes, one each from Bucharest (OTP) and Cluj-Napoca (CLJ). The Romanian capital gained a new domestic connection to Oradea (OMR), a 423-kilometre link that the hybrid carrier will operate three times weekly (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) on its 737-500s according to OAG schedules. The city pair is already served by TAROM eight times weekly. The connection launched from Cluj-Napoca was a 1,923-kilometre link to Birmingham (BHX). Operated on the same days as the former route, the second cities of Romania and the UK will be connected by the airline’s 737-800s.
