CFR Cluj won the Romanian Cup for the 2024/25 edition, after defeating Hermannstadt 3-2 in the final on Wednesday evening, according to telegrafi.com.
Ioan Varga, Cluj’s manager, really wanted this trophy, especially since he can no longer imagine Dan Petrescu’s team not qualifying for European competitions.
To motivate the players to the maximum, the businessman did not look at the money and set a considerable bonus for them.
Thus, for this new trophy that has been added to the club’s showcase, CFR Cluj won the fifth Romanian Cup in the club’s history, while Ioan Varga gave the team a prize of 180,000 euros.
The prize will be divided between players and staff, so that a starter will receive the sum of 5,000 euros, writes prosport.ro.
