Turkish Airlines increases frequencies for direct Cluj-Istanbul flights

Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, Cluj County Council and the airline Turkish Airlines announce the increase in the frequency of direct flights to Istanbul starting in May, according to Airport Cluj

Turkish Airlines has been offering direct flights to Istanbul from Cluj International Airport since 2016. The increased frequency increases the number of flights from 7 to 9 per week, by adding two new additional flights, operated on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings, to the flights that are currently operated daily. According to the flight schedule promoted by the airline, this increase will facilitate passenger connectivity to the over 300 destinations in the Turkish Airlines global network available from the Istanbul air hub.

The additional flight frequency responds to the growing demand from passengers who choose Istanbul both as a final destination and as a connection hub to intercontinental destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and South America.
Mr Viorel Federiga, President of the Board of Directors of Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, stated: “We particularly appreciate the decision of Turkish Airlines to increase flight frequencies. Through these remarkable results, Cluj International Airport demonstrates once again that it is the regional airport with the most dynamic and spectacular development. It is obvious that the constant efforts made by the entire Cluj airport team continue to be based on professionalism, vision and excellence in the development of the largest regional airport in Romania”.

Mr David Ciceo, General Manager of Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, added: “We are pleased that, starting in May, passengers will be able to benefit from even more connection possibilities offered by one of the largest international aviation hubs. We are convinced that the airline’s decision to increase the number of frequencies from 7 to 9 on this route will be appreciated by both the business environment and other passengers of Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, whether we are talking about the diversity of connections offered through these flights, or the option for a city break”.
