Banca Transilvania and OTP Bank Romania became one bank

Banca Transilvania announces the successful completion of the merger with OTP Bank Romania. BT consolidates its leading position and reaches 23% market share both through organic growth and following the integration of OTP Bank. The merger also meant for BT increases of 9% in assets and 13% of the loan portfolio as well as a larger presence in Bucharest and the central region of the country, according to Business Review.

”Banca Transilvania has a core competence, namely the rapid and successful integration expertise of the acquired companies. This time, it included a record time integration of just seven months, with a very smooth implementation, realized due to the similarities and synergies between BT and OTP Bank, as well as the involvement of the two banks’ teams. We welcome our new customers, business partners and colleagues,” says Omer Tetik, General Manager at Banca Transilvania.

What is Banca Transilvania offering to the new customers, following the merger with OTP Bank:

  • Access to the largest ecosystem of banking and complementary banking solutions through the BT Group companies.
  • Presence in 350 communities across the country, with over 530 branches and over 2,000 self-banking machines (BT Express, BT Express Plus, BT Cash & Drop).
  • State of the art apps, BT Pay (for retail customers), BT Go (for corporates) and BT Visual Help (for guided self-banking).
  • Hungarian Desk, which includes a number of advantages, such as Hungarian-language consultancy for both OTP Bank customers and for those already working with Banca Transilvania, who wish to do so.
  • Welcome offer, including products, services and solutions.
