Kosovo’s football champion, Balkani, has confirmed the sale of Lindon Emërllahu to the Romanian team Cluj. Balkani will benefit from the sale of midfielder Emërllahu for 700 thousand euros, according to Koha.net.
Emërllahu, considered the greatest talent in recent years in Kosovar football, has been transferred to Romanian Cluj.
The owner of Cluj announced that they paid 700 thousand euros for Emërllahu, while 15 percent of the player’s future transfer will go to Balkani.
“Lindon Emërllahu will remain an icon of the brightest stage of FC Balkan, always having the club’s door and the heart of every fan open. Thank you champion for everything you have given to FC Balkani, may luck be with the new team and may the successes not stop,” Balkan’s announcement reads.
Emërllahu is a Kosovo representative and the best footballer of 2024 in Kosovo.
At just 22 years old, Emerllahu was named Player of the Year 2024 in the top Kosovan league and has won five trophies with FC Ballkani, where he played over 100 matches.
Considered the greatest talent in his country, Lindon Emerllahu made his debut for the Kosovo national team at just 19 years old and has already earned six caps. His transfer to CFR Cluj was announced in a unique way, via an Instagram post titled “The Cherry on the Cake,” where Emerllahu was presented as the team’s most important transfer.
CFR Cluj’s coach, Dan Petrescu, stated that Emerllahu is an extraordinary player with the potential to become a key element for the team. Emerllahu is compared to Manchester City’s Mateo Kovacic, and CFR Cluj’s owner, Ioan Varga, mentioned that this transfer will bring significant value to the team.
However, Emerllahu’s transfer has also generated some speculation, including the possibility of player Damjan Djokovic being a reserve. Nevertheless, Petrescu emphasized that Emerllahu will have the opportunity to prove his worth and contribute to the team’s success.
