In Romania, Constanța Municipality has ordered 22 Karsan e-ATA 12-metre electric buses. With this order, the total number of Karsan electric buses in Romania is expected to reach 525 units by the end of 2025. The contract builds upon previous orders in cities such as Craiova, Buzău, Sibiu, Șimleu Silvaniei and Alba Iulia, according to bus-news.com.
Karsan’s partnership with its Romanian distributor, Anadolu Automobile Rom (AAR), has contributed to this growth.
The Karsan e-ATA series is designed to support environmentally friendly public transport. The 12-metre model set for delivery to Constanța features a modular battery system, with capacities ranging from 150 kWh to 600 kWh, allowing a maximum range of up to 450 kilometres on a single charge.
These buses can be charged within one to four hours using fast-charging technology.
