Hidroelectrica and Politehnica University of Timișoara (UPT), one of the most prestigious institutions of higher technical education in Romania, signed a Memorandum of Collaboration. This agreement aims to support research, innovation and training of future generations of specialists in the field of hydropower and energy engineering, thus strengthening the links between education, research and the energy industry, according to The Diplomat.
“This Memorandum represents an important opportunity to strengthen the links between technical education and the energy sector, at a time when the energy transition and sustainable development are becoming essential priorities for our future. We are pleased to collaborate with the Politehnica University of Timișoara to support innovation in hydropower and the training of the new generation of specialists who will contribute to the development of an increasingly efficient and green energy system”, said Karoly Borbely, President of the Hidroelectrica Directorate.
“Partnerships between academia and industry are essential to developing an education system that meets the market demands and technological challenges of the future. The collaboration with Hidroelectrica represents an important step in the direction of innovation and the training of professionals who will contribute to the transformation of the energy sector in Romania”, added Florin Drăgan, rector of Politehnica University of Timișoara.
