HiSky to launch flights from Bucharest to Paris

Romanian-Moldovan airline HiSky said it will operate flights from Romania’s capital of Bucharest to Paris, France, starting October 14. Flights from Bucharest’s Henri Coanda Airport to Paris will be carried out three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, HiSky said. The new destination will also be available to passengers from Cluj Napoca, Timisoara, Oradea, and Chisinau with a connecting flight to Bucharest, according to SeeNews.com.

“HiSky was launched as a full-service airline, and we are committed to maintaining that status. […] Our mission is to build business relationships based on transparency, and perhaps most importantly, we always choose to operate at main airports. Thus, after starting operations at one of the world’s most important airports, New York – JFK, for the Paris destination, we could only opt for Charles de Gaulle,” HiSky CEO Iulian Scorpan said.

Last month, HiSky inaugurated its Bucharest-New York route, becoming the first airline to offer a direct connection between Romania and the US in almost 21 years.

In April, the airline also received a licence from the Canadian Transportation Agency to operate regular flights to and from the North American country.

With a fleet of eight Airbus aircraft, including a large aircraft capable of up to thirteen hours of uninterrupted flight, HiSky operates flights from Moldova’s capital Chisinau and the Romanian cities of Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Timisoara, Baia Mare, and Oradea to international destinations in Europe and the US, as well as charter flights to Asia and Africa.
