HiSky announces launch of flights: Bucharest and London, the first direct destinations from Oradea Airport

Starting this October, passengers from Oradea will be able to fly directly to Bucharest and London from the local airport. HiSky has begun selling tickets for the first two routes it will operate from this airport. The inaugural flight to Bucharest is set for Monday, October 14, followed by the first Oradea-London flight on Tuesday, October 15. There will be daily flights to Bucharest and three weekly flights to London (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays), with return flights on the same days. Ticket prices start at €39 for Oradea-Bucharest and €59 for Oradea-London, according to Business-Review.eu.

Additionally, the daily flight to Bucharest, landing at Henri Coandă Airport at 7:20 AM, will allow passengers from Bihor to connect to HiSky’s entire network from the capital. Through this system, passengers can purchase a single ticket from Oradea to any destination, including New York.

“As our passengers have come to expect, we always aim to bring something new each season, whether it’s adding new aircraft to our fleet or introducing highly anticipated destinations. This fall, we are excited to offer new travel options from Oradea with HiSky. The airport has seen significant investment and is supported by a local administration and community eager for better connectivity. We have been operating successfully from regional airports in Iași, Baia Mare, Timișoara, and Cluj for several years. This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the potential here, as passengers always prefer air travel whenever the option is available,” said Iulian Scorpan, CEO of HiSky.

The announcement of ticket sales for the first flights from Oradea International Airport comes after the signing of a joint venture agreement in April this year between HiSky and Air Oradea, the public company of Oradea City Hall and Bihor County Council. According to the agreement, HiSky will operate both regular routes and a series of charter flights from this airport.

HiSky’s fleet includes eight Airbus aircraft, including a large aircraft capable of up to 13 hours of uninterrupted flight, used for long-distance travel. The company regularly operates from airports in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Iași, Baia Mare, Oradea and Chișinău to destinations in Europe and the United States, as well as charter flights to Asia and Africa. Last weekend, the airline inaugurated the Bucharest-New York route, becoming the first company to offer this direct connection between Romania and the USA in almost 21 years. Recently, HiSky also received authorization to operate regular flights to Canada.
