One of the most famous choirs in Poland will perform in Cluj. It is the choir of the Roman Catholic Cathedral of St John the Baptist in Wroclaw, the capital of Lower Silesia.
The concert will take place on Sunday 16 June at 19.30 in the St Joseph Chapel of the Greek-Catholic Cathedral of Martyrs and Confessors of the Faith of the 20th Century. The Polish choir will bring to the heart of Transylvania some of the most beautiful performances of sacred music. Admission is free.
The Cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Wroclaw is nicknamed the “Mother of all churches in Silesia”. It was built on an island in the middle of the river Odra.
The first form of the cathedral dates back to the 10th century, then it was rebuilt in Gothic style, and eventually neo-Gothic elements were added. The cathedral is also famous because it houses the Royal Crown of Poland.
