On this occasion, the Italian officials visited the beautiful baroque complex of Avrig, once the summer residence of Baron Samuel von Brukenthal, governor of Transylvania. During the meeting, the development programme of the Historic Café Route was presented and the Council of Europe’s guidelines for the transformation of Cultural Routes into cultural tourism offers were discussed. The focus was also on the steps to include Romania in the ‘Golden Cafes’ network.

As a sign of recognition and appreciation, the Italian delegation presented the ‘Province of Power’ award to the new President of HCR, Arnold Gunter Klingeis. At the same time, the Brukenthal Palace Cafe received an invitation to participate in promotional activities in the Basilicata Region from 13 to 17 July 2024. Arnold Gunter Klingeis will participate as a speaker at the ‘La Perla’ award ceremony in Maratea on 13 July 2024.
