The Romanian municipality of Cluj-Napoca is investing 32.65 million lei ($7.2 million/6.5 million euro) to build an integrated waste collection centre, city mayor Emil Boc said. The investment is funded through Romania’s national recovery and resilience plan Boc said in a social media post last week, quoted by SeeNews.com.
The centre will have a waste processing hall of 587 sq m and a compost platform of 1,400 sq m, along with auxiliary buildings. It will collect all types of waste, except for household waste, Boc said.
“The project thus contributes to the acceleration of the process of expansion and modernization of waste management systems and is in line with the strategic development directions of the Cluj-Napoca municipality for the green component,” the mayor added.
