Cluj-Napoca invests 12.3 mln euro in Park&Ride facility at airport

Romania’s city of Cluj-Napoca and local construction company TCI Contractor General signed a 60.8 million lei ($13.3 million/12.3 million euro) contract for building a “Park & Ride” facility at the Avram Iancu international airport, the city mayor Emil Boc said, according to SeeNews.ro.

The contract has a term of 12 months, Boc said in a social media post.

The facility will include 863 parking spaces, of which 30 for electric vehicles, as well as bus stations.

In February, the Avram Iancu airport said that it signed a contract with a consortium of seven Romanian companies for expansion of its departure terminal and the aircraft parking platform.

TCI Contractor General was founded in 1952 as the Cluj-Napoca Industrial Construction Trust. The company was privatised in 1996.
