GOTO Parking, the car park inside the “Avram Iancu” Cluj International Airport, announces that in 2022 investments of more than 135,000 euros have been made. This amount is in addition to investments of over 500,000 euros that have been made since 2019, since GOTO Parking took over the car park.
Throughout 2022, GOTO Parking has focused its resources to modernize the car park to meet the needs of its customers while positioning itself as an integrated part of the Cluj community.
“Over the past year we have worked on two important directions. The first is on the investment side, where certainly the most important, not in terms of amount, but in terms of utility, is the installation of electric car charging stations to meet the needs of customers who use electric cars. The second direction is to integrate GOTO Parking into the community of Cluj. Even though we are a transit area, we want to contribute and be aligned with everything that is happening in the municipality of Cluj-Napoca. For this reason, we have made collaborations with different events such as Untold, Sports Festival, TIFF, Transylvania International Book Festival, but also we have offered small attentions to our customers in important moments such as March 1st, Women’s Day, Children’s Day and others”, said Sanda Ardelean, GOTO Parking administrator.
Thus, 10,000 euros went towards the installation of charging stations for electric cars, and the same amount was invested in paving the area in front of the old terminal. For the safety of customers, the road markings have been re-laid, a project costing €5,000. Also, to keep the car park clean and pleasant looking, more than €7,000 was invested in landscaping and installing waste bins for selective collection. A further €3,000 has gone towards the design and signage of disabled parking spaces.
The biggest investment, over €100,000, was the purchase and installation of an electrical transformer, which will be put into operation soon.
The trend of GOTO Parking representatives to go in a direction of modernization, technology and green parking led in 2022 to an increase of more than 33% in the number of tickets issued, compared to the previous year.
In 2023, GOTO Parking representatives will continue to invest in the modernisation and development of the car park, and future investments include: paving the Arrivals area, redesigning the car park, adding more pay machines and implementing POS systems at each barrier.
“Of course, ESG and innovation will remain our focus in this new. We want to be, as before, a modern airport car park that is in line with the big car parks in Western Europe. We are also forward-looking, so we are focusing a lot of our resources on becoming as green as possible”, said Sanda Ardelean, GOTO Parking’s administrator.
ABOUT GOTO Parking
GOTO Parking is one of the most modern airport car parks in Romania, located near the “Avram Iancu” International Airport in Cluj-Napoca.
The car park benefits from the LPR system (License Plate Recognition, for the identification of car registration numbers) and Equinsa parking, as well as a modern payment system through the yeParking application and the possibility to reserve a parking space in advance, to avoid long waiting times. GOTO Parking customers can enjoy traffic-calming markings, a modern lighting system and safety inside the car park, as the area is monitored by a high-performance video system.
Since 2019, since taking over the Cluj airport car park, GOTO Parking representatives have modernized and adapted this target of interest to customers’ wishes, offering services similar to those found at any European airport to reduce the stress and unpredictability of finding a parking space in one of the busiest areas of Cluj-Napoca.
