Romania scores high at Central European Informatics Olympiad, 4 win medals







Romania’s Informatics Olympiad team won four medals, one gold and three silver, at the 29th Central European Informatics Olympiad (CEOI) held July 24-30 in Varazdin, Croatia, says

Alexandru Luchianov (International High School of Informatics, Bucharest) won the gold medal and won first place in the competition with 540 points. Faculty of Informatics, Bucharest) and his Alexandru-Radu Todoran (“Aurel Vlaicu” Theory High School, Orăștie, Hunedoara County) won the silver medal.

The Romanian team, accompanied by Sensei Dan-Narcis Pracsiu (‘Emil Racovita’ Vaslui’s National College – Team Leader) and Ioan-Bogdan Iordache (University of Bucharest Student, Former Olympian – Vice-Leader), took first place.

This year’s competition had 52 contestants from 12 countries.

The first Central European Information Olympiad was held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania in 1994 under the initiative of Romania.
