Romania’s Informatics Olympiad team won four medals, one gold and three silver, at the 29th Central European Informatics Olympiad (CEOI) held July 24-30 in Varazdin, Croatia, says WorldAkkam.com.
Alexandru Luchianov (International High School of Informatics, Bucharest) won the gold medal and won first place in the competition with 540 points. Faculty of Informatics, Bucharest) and his Alexandru-Radu Todoran (“Aurel Vlaicu” Theory High School, Orăștie, Hunedoara County) won the silver medal.
The Romanian team, accompanied by Sensei Dan-Narcis Pracsiu (‘Emil Racovita’ Vaslui’s National College – Team Leader) and Ioan-Bogdan Iordache (University of Bucharest Student, Former Olympian – Vice-Leader), took first place.
This year’s competition had 52 contestants from 12 countries.
The first Central European Information Olympiad was held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania in 1994 under the initiative of Romania.
