EuroCup 2022-23 season groups are set

The EuroCup 2022-23 season group stage draw was made, in which 20 teams found out their upcoming opponents in the regular season. The draw divided 20 teams from 14 countries into two groups of 10 teams. They will play 18 regular-season games – nine at home and nine on the road – with the top eight teams from each group advancing to the elimination rounds, according to BasketNews.com.

There are five newcomers to the competition: Hapoel Tel Aviv of Israel, Paris Basketball of France, London Lions of Great Britain, Prometey Slobozhanske of Ukraine, and U-BT Cluj-Napoja of Romania.

Germani Brescia of Italy returns to the EuroCup after a one-season absence. The other 14 squads competed in the EuroCup in the 2021-22 campaign.

20 teams divided into two groups of 10 teams each. Round-robin format for a total of 18 games played by each team. Best eight teams from each group advance to knock-out elimination phases. Each group’s top-ranked team earns home-court advantage in the eightfinals, quarterfinals, and semifinals.

Knock-out elimination: all played under single-game format. The top eight teams from Group A face the top eight teams from Group B. The higher-ranked regular-season team in each matchup enjoys a home-court advantage. Each series winner advances to the next.
