Are you stressed? Find out nine ways you can manage stress

Stress has become a constant in our daily lives. Stress can be positive if it helps us avoid danger or meet a deadline. However, when stress lasts a long time and is not managed properly, it can affect our health. Find out more from the show IOANA’S PILL.

Stress-induced disorders can be digestive, dermatological or neurological. There is a close link between the brain and the gut, it is called the gut-brain axis.

We are talking about a two-way communication between the central nervous system and the enteric – gut nervous system. This is achieved through a complex network of neurons, hormones and other chemical molecules.

What happens when the flora is disrupted:

Toxins can be more easily absorbed from the gut and reach the neuronal level so organ activity is impaired.

The intestinal bacterial filter no longer works properly and various diseases occur
When bacteria and toxins pass through the intestinal barrier, a phenomenon called leaky gut occurs.

The most common disturbances of the intestinal flora that are caused or exacerbated by stress are: in the digestive sphere (ulcers, gastritis, Crohn’s disease) dermatological disorders (psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, vitiligo, acne) neurological disorders (Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis) and many others.
