Acneic skin: the most effective treatment methods IOANA’S PILL

Acne is the most common dermatological condition that occurs on combination-oily skin and has a major psycho-social impact on those affected. In the Ioana’s Pill show we talk about the essential steps in caring for acneic skin and the most effective treatment methods.

Acne is common in teenagers and usually clears up around the age of 20, but there are cases where it can persist into adulthood, especially in women.

Routine

If you’ve set out to get rid of acne, you’ll need to stick to a routine: You’ll only need a few minutes twice a day, in the morning and evening.

1. First step: every evening, your complexion should be thoroughly cleansed of make-up and dust, as well as the sebum produced by your skin during the day. The right products are dermatocosmetics from the pharmacy, micellar waters, non-alcoholic, non-astringent solutions that remove substances from the skin correctly.

2. The next step is washing with mild foaming products that remove the last impurities from the pores.

3. The third step is to apply treatment products to perfectly dry skin. Depending on the severity of the form of acne, topical products ranging from mild to aggressive can be applied only on the dermatologist’s advice.

4. In the morning I recommend washing with lukewarm water and then applying a special non-comedogenic moisturising cream for combination/oily skin.

5. Then apply a dermatocosmetic sun protection cream with SPF 30+ minimum.

6. The daily use of thick, compact, high coverage make-up products is not recommended. Frequent scrubs or scrubs are also not recommended to avoid irritating the skin and worsening the condition of lesions.

Treatment

In terms of treatment options, we recommend:

– Dermato-cosmetic creams

– Medicated creams with salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide and adapalene, which are the treatment of choice for acne when dermatocosmetic treatment is not sufficient or a combination of the two is needed.

– Laser and blue light therapies

– Probiotic treatment

In recent years, various clinical studies have been carried out to prove the effectiveness of probiotics in the treatment of acne. Probiotics have been shown to directly inhibit Propiobacterium acnes, one of the factors responsible for acne, restoring the bacterial balance in the skin. They also have a strong anti-inflammatory effect.

Omni-Biotic 6
And speaking of products with probiotic properties, I would mention OMNi-BiOTiC® 6, which contains 6 key bacterial strains that colonise the entire intestinal mucosa, from the duodenum to the rectum.

This product contributes to the rebalancing of the intestinal flora, which can generate a strong immunomodulatory effect, through the production of interleukin-10 and thus a decrease in inflammatory and allergic immune reactions.

OMNi-BiOTiC® 6 also strengthens the intestinal barrier which plays an important role in the treatment of acne and allergies, in stimulating the immune system or in intestinal flora imbalances.

With OMNi-BiOTiC® 6 you can bring your whole body into balance, including your skin, because a healthy gut means beautiful skin.

Finally, I would like to remind you of what Constantin Brancusi said about beauty, namely that “The human body is beautiful only to the extent that it mirrors the soul”. Farewell!
