Also referred to as the father of Roman electronic music, Rodion Roșca also announced to fans at a concert at the Electric Castle Festival in 2016 that he was seriously ill and could be his last performance. He was suffering from hepatitis B and C as well as advanced cirrhosis, according to CampusLately.com.
The newspaper states that the musician, born in Cluj-Napoca in 1953, was to a Hungarian mother and Romanian father. In 1975, he founded his band Rodion GA, which played a mix of electronic music and progressive rock with a very unique voice, often advancing on global trends. Rodion was the first to use the sampling method in Romania in the 1980s, where he recorded his songs with his own instruments, not in a studio.
