Wizz Air to launch three new routes from Romania’s Cluj-Napoca, Iasi to Greece in June

Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air said it is launching three new routes from the Romanian cities of Cluj-Napoca and Iasi to Greece starting June 11, according to SeeNews.com.

Flights from Cluj-Napoca to Zakynthos and Mykonos and from Iasi to Santorini will be operated twice a week, Wizz Air said in a press release.

“We continue to see sustained demand for holiday destinations in Cluj-Napoca and Iasi and we are responding with new routes to Greece, which is one of Romanians’ favorite vacation destinations abroad,” Wizz Air senior corporate communications manager Andras Rado said.

With the latest service, Wizz Air will operate eight routes from Romania to Greece. The air carrier currently operates five routes from Bucharest to Greece.

Wizz Air is present in Romania since 2006 and currently offers over 180 domestic and international routes from eleven airports in the country.

In October, Wizz Air opened a base in the Romanian northeastern city of Bacau, its seventh in the country.
