Wizz Air to launch new routes from Romania’s Iasi, Craiova to Birmingham in Oct

Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air said on Monday it is launching two new routes from the Romanian cities of Iasi and Craiova to Birmingham in the UK, starting October, according to SeeNews.com.

Wizz Air will operate the service from the northeastern city of Iasi to Birmingham two times a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, starting October 23, the company said in a press release.

The new service is Wizz Air’s third connection from Iasi to Great Britain and the company’s twentieth overall from Iasi.

As of October 24, Wizz Air will fly from the southern city of Craiova to Birmingham on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

This is Wizz Air’s second route from Craiova to Great Britain and its eighth from Craiova.

Earlier this month, Wizz Air announced that it is launching a new route from Romania’s northwestern city of Cluj-Napoca to Liverpool in the UK, starting October 23.

In August, Wizz Air launched eight new routes from Romania’s capital Bucharest – to Cagliari, Copenhagen, Bergen, Hamburg, Karlsruhe, Memmingen, Santorini and Mykonos.

In June, the air carrier announced that it will open on October 29 a base in the Romanian northeastern city of Bacau, its seventh in the country.
